Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Pest Control Specialist to join our team as an Independent Contractor. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pest control, excellent knowledge of treatment methods, and the ability to work independently without supervision. As a contractor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality pest management services to residential and commercial clients, ensuring properties are free from infestations and maintained pest-free.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspection and Assessment:

  • Conduct detailed inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify pest infestations and assess the severity of the problem.
  • Identify pest species, areas of infestation, and entry points.
  • Recommend appropriate treatments based on the inspection findings and customer needs.

• Pest Control Treatment:

  • Develop and implement effective pest control treatment plans, including the application of chemical, biological, and mechanical methods.
  • Safely handle and apply pesticides and other pest control products in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform exclusion work to block pest entry points and prevent future infestations.
  • Provide specialized services including rodent control, termite treatments, bed bug eradication, insect extermination, and wildlife control.

• Customer Communication:

  • Clearly explain pest issues, treatment plans, and prevention strategies to clients.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional manner.
  • Advise clients on follow-up treatments and preventive measures to minimize future infestations.

• Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all pest control activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow safety procedures during pesticide application, ensuring the safety of clients, their pets, and the environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided, treatments used, and follow-up recommendations.

• Equipment and Supplies:

  • Maintain and care for all equipment, tools, and supplies required for pest control services.
  • Ensure all pesticides and chemicals are stored and handled in accordance with safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a pest control technician or specialist.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage pest control cases from start to finish.

• Certifications/Licenses:

  • Must hold a valid and current pest control license or certification required by state or local authorities.
  • Additional certifications such as Termite Control, Rodent Control, or Bed Bug Eradication are a plus.

• Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of pest biology, behavior, and control methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify pest issues and determine the most effective treatments.
  • Ability to safely handle and apply chemicals in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete thorough inspections.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers and provide clear, professional advice.

• Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and navigate tight spaces such as attics or basements.
  • Comfortable working with potentially hazardous materials and handling pests.

Job Type:

• Independent Contractor (This is not a full-time employment position. You will work on a project-by-project basis and be responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and equipment.)

Compensation:

• Competitive, based on experience and the scope of each project.
• Payment is issued upon completion of services or as agreed upon in the contract.

Work Hours:

• Flexible, based on customer needs. Most jobs will require daytime availability, but some treatments may need to be scheduled during off-hours to accommodate clients.
