TAX MANAGER (TORONTO, ON)

About the Role:& Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide expert tax consulting services across various industries, including investments, high net worth individuals, and cross-border taxation. You will work closely with senior team members and partners, contributing to strategic tax planning and compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement long-term tax planning strategies.
• Collaborate with Tax Partners and senior staff to identify and address tax risks and opportunities.
• Manage client engagements and oversee tax compliance across diverse industries.
• Prepare and review personal, corporate, trust, and partnership tax returns.
• Communicate with tax authorities and clients regarding audits, appeals, and tax positions.
• Develop and document tax strategies, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
• Stay informed on tax law changes and apply this knowledge to client situations.

Ideal Candidate:

• CPA Designation: Required
• In-Depth Tax Program: Completed or enrolled
• Experience: 5+ years in Canadian tax consulting at a public practice firm, including cross-border tax experience
• Preferred Background: Experience with Big 4 or mid-sized firms (EY, PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, MNP, BDO, Grant Thornton, RSM)

Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of corporate, personal, and trust tax planning and compliance.
• Proven ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and deliver high-quality results.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with tax software such as Caseware, JazzIt, and QuickBooks.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional service.
