Assistant General Manager, Loss Prevention
The Assistant General Manager (AGM), Loss Prevention is a senior management position responsible for achieving London Drugs' retail Loss Prevention and security objectives across all locations and business units. This includes overseeing LP Operations, Investigations, Asset Protection, and Physical Security.
By leading a professional and highly collaborative retail loss prevention team, the AGM will support the General Manager in implementing the strategic vision of loss prevention. The AGM will ensure standards are maintained and will recommend improvements to ensure London Drugs provides our customers with a superior shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Protect all company assets and reduce losses through strategic and tactical measures.
  • Achieve all financial benchmarks for Loss Prevention.
  • Approve security expenditures within authorized limits.
  • Ensure performance and budget benchmarks are met.
  • Set and manage Loss Prevention team goals that align with overall company objectives.
  • Ensure effective deployment and maintenance of LP programs related to physical security, crime prevention, and fire and life safety systems in all company locations.
  • Implement loss prevention systems across all locations, including during store construction projects.
  • Maintain effective liaison with local law enforcement and other loss prevention professionals.
  • Attend select industry meetings and events to network and stay current on relevant developments.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies and alarm calls as required.
  • Manage security response during emergency situations in collaboration with Head Office leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with the LP team, Executive team, and authorities as needed.
Education & Experience:
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate, operational, and physical security in retail.
  • Advanced understanding of criminal code, application of force, and provincial regulations.
  • Leadership experience in a complex retail Loss Prevention or corporate security program.
  • Security education or recognized professional accreditation (e.g., PSP, CPP, CCPI, LPC).
  • Education in justice, security, loss prevention, emergency preparedness, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Provincial security worker license: Security Consultant is an asset.
  • Extensive experience in coaching, conflict management, and negotiation.
  • Experience with investigative techniques and interview methods (e.g., W-Z, Peace).
  • Strong knowledge of security systems design and deployment (architectural hardware, intrusion, fire alarm, video, analytics, access and key control, and asset tracking).

Salary Range: Based on experience $90,000 to $120,000 annual.

On-Site Requirement: The role is on-site at our Richmond offices.
Remote Work: There is potential for some limited remote work.
Travel required: Overnight travel by air, ferry, or vehicle is required.
