Position Overview

As a Heavy Equipment Operator you will safely operate our large equipment supporting our utility group. You will work with the Foreperson on the safe execution of work for a number of our clients. In this role you will be required to travel to multiple sites across a region; as a result frequent overnight stays will be required.

Job Duties
  • Operation of Hydro Axe, Excavator and/or Skid Steer, Mulcher.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment checks prior to operation.
  • Assistance in loading/unloading equipment at different work locations.
  • Groundwork support for trimming operations; chainsaw use, chipping / loading brush.
  • Assist the Trimmers and Foreman in job site setup, debris removal, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
  • Willing and able to temporarily move locations as contract progresses.
Qualifications
  • Valid provincial driver's license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
  • 3 years' experience with excavators, mulchers or front-end loaders.
  • General landscaping experience.
  • Experience with chainsaw and chipping operations.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic, willingness to learn and progress.
  • Ability to work safely, as part of crew team.
  • Bondable with no prior criminal record.
Additional Information
  • Full time. Year-round employment.
  • Mostly rural locations.
  • Daily Per Diem. Hotel expenses covered while on assignment.
  • Occasional overtime required.
