partner staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking an experienced Civil Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead our Geotechnical Engineering Department in Alberta. The successful candidate will manage a team of engineers and technicians, oversee project execution, ensure technical excellence, and contribute to the company's growth by developing client relationships and new business opportunities. This leadership position demands a balance of technical expertise, business acumen, and team management skills.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Geotechnical Engineering Department, ensuring effective team coordination, development, and performance.
  
• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-efficiency.
  
• Provide expert technical guidance on geotechnical issues, including soil and rock mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques.
  
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining and enhancing client relationships, and identifying business development opportunities.
  
• Ensure all geotechnical designs and reports meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  
• Collaborate with the business development team to identify potential markets and opportunities for growth, and prepare proposals and bids for new projects.
  
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld.
  
• Manage department budgets, resources, and schedules to meet project and company objectives.
  
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Alberta or eligibility for registration.
  
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a consulting company.
  
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, with hands-on experience in foundation design, slope stability, site investigation, and ground improvement.
  
• Proven ability to manage large, complex projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  
• Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, with a focus on collaboration, mentorship, and professional development.
  
• Strong business development skills, with experience in client relationship management and proposal preparation.
