Job DescriptionIn today's data-driven business environment, the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of our customer and master data are pivotal to our strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. As Canada Goose continues to evolve, the role of Master Data Analyst becomes ever more critical. You will play a key role in ensuring our core data assets—spanning financial, customer, product, and vendor information—are properly managed and leveraged to drive sustained business value.
This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within our organization, promoting innovation and excellence in our data management practices.
In addition to your core responsibilities as MD Coordinator, you will provide valuable support to the Accounts Payable team, helping to drive automation initiatives and offering ad-hoc assistance. While ensuring full adherence to our strict segregation of duty policies, your involvement in AP may initially represent up to 30% of your workload, gradually reducing as systems and processes evolve.
What You'll Do:
- Ensure master data integrity in key systems as well as maintain the processes to support data quality
- Create appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data process analysis and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary
- Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies
- Ensure quality of master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity
- Manage, analyze, and resolve data initiative issues and manage revisions needed to best meet internal requirements while adhering to published data standards
- Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
- Assist in data management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements with other functional data owners to ensure functional master data integrity across the operation of financial systems is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements
- Work closely with the business/IT to ensure alignment of master data rules and the operations of the application meet all requirements
- Assist in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to and integrity of data sets
- Perform master data modifications in compliance with SOX and Internal controls.
Let's Talk About You:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Data Analytics Certification, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.
- 2-3 years of experience as a data analyst would be ideal but are not mandatory
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience with D365 or lease software would be an asset
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong computer and business solution software skills.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to develop and maintain courteous and collaborative working relationships, internally and externally
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Proficiency in data management or lease accounting is considered an asset.
