Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Representative to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, with a focus on generating new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and driving growth in both commercial and residential project development. The role will be based in Ottawa, and candidates must have prior experience working in the regions construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities in the commercial construction sector, including office buildings, retail, and industrial projects, with an additional focus on residential project development.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, acting as the main point of contact to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies aimed at expanding the company's portfolio in both commercial and residential markets.
- Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify industry trends, opportunities, and competitors in the Ottawa construction market, and leverage insights to enhance business development efforts.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and present proposals, bids, and presentations to prospective clients, showcasing the company's strengths and capabilities in commercial and residential construction projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including project managers, estimators, and site supervisors, to align business development goals with project execution.
- Account Management: Oversee ongoing projects to ensure they meet client expectations, resolve issues as they arise, and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to represent the company and grow its network within the Ottawa construction community.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development within the commercial construction sector.
- Proven experience in residential project development is a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of the Ottawa construction market and a track record of developing business in the region.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with company goals.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a client-centric approach to managing relationships.
- Experience preparing and presenting proposals, bids, and reports to clients.
- Familiarity with construction project management and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Proficient in CRM systems and sales tracking software.
