As a Pediatric Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in various healthcare settings. Your role is essential in promoting the health and well-being of young patients and supporting their families through medical procedures and treatment plans.
- Assess and monitor the health status of pediatric patients, including taking vital signs, conducting physical exams, and gathering medical histories.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on the unique needs of each child, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosages and patient safety.
- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and preventative care, providing support and resources as needed.
- Manage medical equipment and assist with diagnostic tests and procedures specific to pediatric patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting observations, interventions, and patient progress.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of pediatric patients, ensuring a compassionate and supportive environment.
- Stay informed about developments in pediatric nursing practices, treatments, and healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) may be acceptable with relevant experience.
