The Opportunity

InnPower is growing! We're seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst to join our team, with a specific focus on capital (self-constructed assets), the backbone of our utility operations. In this role, your core responsibility will be the meticulous tracking, analysis, and reporting of our extensive capital asset portfolio in accordance with IFRS and regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the successful candidate will be instrumental in providing accounting services for the InnPower group of companies and living our values & guiding principles.

This role is perfect for a data-driven professional who possesses strong attention to detail and focused on providing internal clients a great service.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for the InnPower Group of Companies in accordance with current IFRS and Regulatory Accounting standards.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end activities, including assisting in the preparation of the year end audits and budgets.
  • Analyze and develop financing plans for large scale capital projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing procedures, including posting recurring journals, monthly account reconciliations, development charges, balance sheet reporting, etc., for routine and complex accounts in accordance with IFRS reporting standards.
  • Assist in the ongoing development and documentation of the departmental policies and procedures.
  • Preparation of reports/analysis for Regulatory, Operations, and Engineering as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of progressive financial experience, focused on financial analysis and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
  • Enrolled and currently pursuing CPA at an intermediate/senior level.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, Development Charges Act and Regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
