General Job Description
The General Manager of PC & Admin is responsible for general management of product warehousing & logistics, Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources and Corp Planning
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute budgets, including relevant departments accountable to the achievement of budgets
- Development and participation in strategic business planning of current and future business
- Overall responsibility for ensuring that staffing and competency levels are achieved/exceeded in all aspects of area responsibility
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all area managers
- Encourage and promote operations in a continuous improvement environment
- Communicate with all levels of management, including Japanese staff
- Liaison with external agencies and internal committees (E.g. MOL / auditors etc.)
Production Control
- Work closely with plant production and PC to ensure customer delivery KPIs are met while monitoring inventory management control trends and areas of improvement
- Review established shipping schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure established delivery deadlines are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible
- Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product delivery
- Remove delivery constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct employees to attain all established goals
- Remove waste and constraints from the process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity
- Maintain equipment and ancillary services
- Establish financial and administrative controls; responsible for budgeting
- TG Minto may amend the reporting structure and/or duties and responsibilities as business needs require
HR, EHS & Quality
- Work closely with the HR Manager/EHS Manager to align strategy with legislative requirements, operational execution, and business performance goals
- Lead and inspire the Health and Safety Team collaborating with senior management to drive a culture of safety and operational excellence
- Work in collaboration with the HR Manager for development and execution of comprehensive HR strategies and initiatives that align with overall business objectives
Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified in a Manufacturing/Management and/or Logistics discipline or other related field
- 10+ years progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at an automotive or ancillary manufacturing facility
- Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices
- Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze and present data and trends
- Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement
- Previous experience/broad understanding of human resources, safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task under potentially stressful conditions.
- Ability to support various shifts and to travel between multiple sites.
