Location: Hybrid – Ottawa, ON (Once a week in the office)

Position Summary

ESG solutions have never been in more demand, so Profoundry is seeking a new Accounts Payable Clerk to join our growing team!

The Accounts Payable Clerk provides accounting and financial analytic support to all companies across Profoundry. In this role, you will report to finance manager. Your main responsibilities would be managing the overall Accounts payable process, Credit Card reconciliation and related monthly General Ledger reconciliations. This will require interaction with company team members, external customers and vendors from across Canada, as well as providing general support to the finance department as required. Effective communication and organization skills as well as strong problem-solving capabilities will be required to be successful in the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable:

  • Obtain approval for all invoices received and post into the SAGE accounting system.
  • Perform monthly vendor payment processing for the group of organizations (Profoundry).
  • Responsible for the monthly Accounts Payable (A/P) reconciliation processes, including proper filing of A/P invoices.
  • Perform monthly VISA reconciliations, including collecting, scanning and filing of all receipts
  • Ownership of our employee expense reporting platform (AutoEntry).
  • Assist with employee expense reports as required
  • Lead/reconcile annual charitable giving's campaign, along with making all donations with Corporate VISA credit card

General Accounting & Month-End Activities

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
  • Prepare GL reconciliations and analyze broad range of balance sheet accounts, including intercompany accounts
  • Ownership of in office filing system
  • Support with depositing cheques from clients
  • Support Accounts Receivable invoicing activities as required
  • Support monthly GST/HST Filing as required
  • Support the Financial Analyst and Finance Manager as required

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ASSETS

  • College diploma or University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, etc.) required;
  • Working towards CPA designation preferred;
  • A minimum of two years' work experience within a finance / accounting environment;
  • Experience in Simply Accounting/Sage 50 would be an asset;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook;
  • Ability to adapt easily to new software;
  • Knowledge of financial and contracting practices;
  • Ability to plan and organize day-to-day workload and set priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills;
