The Opportunity
As a Temporary Works Engineer, you will devise innovative solutions to design and build temporary structures, while ensuring the successful installation of infrastructures on-site. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - you will participate in all phases of a project's life cycle from the estimation stage to the delivery.
What You Will Do
- Craft ingenious temporary structures- special formwork, pile-driving jigs, platforms, temporary walkways and bridges, steel structures, cofferdams and temporary supports.
- Own the successful navigation of all design risks and assisting with risk mitigation planning.
- Ensure the meticulous alignment of all designs and calculations with industry codes and standards. Your precision will be our compass.
- During our proposal, estimating and installation phases, you will be the subject matter expert, providing guidance to our crews.
- Meticulously analyze our project plans and specifications for the project's permanent structures, using your discerning eye to uncover hidden potential and potential challenges.
- Participate in our internal engineering documentation verification processes. Your meticulous record-keeping will safeguard our strive for project excellence.
- Collaborate on preparing general methods and work sequences. Sharing your insights to support each project.
This role could be for you if you have
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience designing and constructing temporary structures.
- A professional Engineer license or eligibility to obtain one within Canada.
- Strong experience working in Advance Design or other finite element software.
- An expert level of knowledge and hands on experience working with AutoCAD.
- High familiarity of Revit and/or Civil 3D.
The expected salary range for this opportunity is $108,000 - $146,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate's experience and geographical location.
