We're looking for a Manager, Design and Projects to join our growing company and play a key role in managing the design process for new store designs and renovations, serving as the main point of contact between the executive management and design teams, and overseeing the rollout of new stores and store renovations.
Job DescriptionIn this role you will:
- Oversee the entire design process for new store concepts and renovations from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with internal and external design teams to ensure that design concepts align with Sleep Country Canada's standards and brand guidelines.
- Ensure all design changes are accurately tracked and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Act as the primary liaison between the executive management and design teams, ensuring all design changes and updates are effectively communicated and implemented.
- Provide regular updates to the executive management on the progress of design projects and any potential issues or delays.
- Coordinate the rollout of new stores and store renovations, ensuring all internal functions (IT, Operations, Sales, Merchandising, etc.) are aligned and informed.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan for each new store rollout and renovation, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across all departments
- Act as the primary point of contact for external design firms, construction teams, and landlords involved in new store projects and renovations.
- Ensure compliance with all design guidelines and submission requirements.
- Review and approve all design and construction documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Sleep Country Canada's standards.
- Be present at all store setups to oversee the execution of design and merchandising plans.
- Conduct final inspections to ensure that all design elements and merchandising displays are implemented correctly and to the highest quality standards.
The Qualifications and Experience we like to see:
- University Degree in Business, Project Management, Design or related discipline
- Minimum of 5- 10 years' experience in overseeing store development and design as well as project management and budgeting; retail industry would be a definite asset
- Demonstrated experience in leading and/or managing a team and building and developing strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively negotiate with diplomacy and tact with all levels of management
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, time management, presentation and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive and work in a fast pace and results driven environment
