Our Special Hazards Technicians are responsible for delivering specialized in-field fire services such as:

  • Servicing, maintaining, installing, and/or commissioning fire suppression releasing control panels including devices, suppression mechanical systems for the following: Clean Agent Systems (Inergen, Novec 1230, etc.), Pre-Action, Deluge, CO2 and Watermist.
  • Completing inspections for fire alarm systems and fire suppression systems.
  • Ensuring that work is compliant with jurisdictional codes, regulations, specifications, and standards.
  • Reading and interpretating drawings, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/ product manuals.
  • Identifying deficiencies and recommending any specific solutions and recommendations for customers.
  • Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities.
  • Preparing materials for daily execution of assigned work orders.
  • Ensuring safe work practices are followed safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job.
  • Mentoring other team members including trainees as assigned.

Candidate must also possess the following experience and training credentials

(NOTE: All combinations of education and experience will be considered):

  • 5+ years' experience with Fire Alarm and Specialized Suppression and Inspections, Maintenance, Servicing, Installation and/or Commissioning.
  • Manufacturer training in Fire Alarm Systems and Specialized Suppression Systems including Clean Agent Systems (Inergen, Novec 1230, etc.), Pre-Action, Deluge, CO2 and Watermist would be considered an asset.
  • CFAA Certification
  • Training or trades certification related to an Electrical / Electronics / Suppression and/or Sprinkler Fitting would be considered an asset
  • Experience in customer service delivery environment would be considered an asset along with knowledge of NFPA standards and jurisdictional codes.
  • A valid Driver's License
