What are we looking for in a Technical Manager:

New Launch Program Management

  • Lead and manage new launch programs from inception to completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for new launches.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful program launches.

Process Equipment Maintenance

  • Assist Corporate Engineering with new equipment buy-offs at various global vendors.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment.
  • Ensure the maintenance team develops a strong understanding of the equipment to aid in future troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
  • Develop a preventative maintenance program for all equipment in the facility and for the facility itself.

Tooling Evaluation and Update

  • Evaluate and update new and existing tool sources.
  • Ensure all tooling meets company standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve tooling issues and implement improvements.

Program Tracking and Support

  • Track program changes and document all modifications.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers, program managers, and operations teams.
  • Ensure clear communication and documentation throughout the program lifecycle.

Tooling Program Management

  • Manage all tooling programs post-PPAP to ensure ongoing production meets specifications.
  • Oversee tooling maintenance, repairs, and upgrades as necessary.
  • Monitor tooling performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead blanking tool design standard documentation and innovation activities. Coordinate tooling design standards with Purchasing, Engineering, and Program Management.
  • Act as liaison between AMTB, and tool repair vendors. Determine appropriate repair scope, obtain multiple quotes to understand cost and timing implications,

APQP Team Assistance

  • Collaborate with the APQP team in the development of new tooling.
  • Ensure new tooling development aligns with project timelines and quality standards.
  • Participate in APQP meetings and provide technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a technical management role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in a steel blanking facility.
  • Extensive experience with tooling programs and new launch projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PPAP, APQP, and other automotive quality processes.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
