Role: Scala Developer

Location: Toronto Downtown (Hybrid)

Duration: Permanent Fulltime

Job Description:

• Experienced Scala Developer with a proven track record of developing and delivering scalable and high-performance software solutions.

Must have:

Proven experience in Scala development preferably 8-10 years and a strong understanding of Scala language features, functional programming concepts.

Participated in Scala migration projects, updating legacy codebases to the latest Scala versions.

Strong understanding of SBT plugins and SBT build process. Expertise in modifying/updating build.sbt as needed in Scala upgrade.

Have a good knowledge in Unit testing, Integration Testing, Functional Testing, ensures new changes do not break existing functionality. Hands-on experience on ScalaTest and JUnit testing.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.

Ability to work with onsite and offshore team members.

Nice to have:

Experience with Financial projects.

Experience developing Java services / microservices.

Experience programming with Spring, Spring Boot.

Understanding of software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
