Position Summary:

Liberty is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Reinsurance Analyst to join our Global Reinsurance team located in our Toronto office. The Senior Reinsurance Analyst will manage the Internal Re monthly process and analysis for Canada/NA Re, general ledger accounting and month-end processing, prepares Canada Schedule F, account reconciliations, prepare bordereaux and settlements. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Compile monthly Internal Reinsurance files for processing and provide analysis to LM Boston as needed
• General ledger accounting and month-end processing of journal entries for several regions
• Liaise with NAS US and NA Re to ensure a timely month-end close
• Provides detailed reconciliation to Liberty Mutual every quarter as part of the Affiliated Reinsurance Elimination signoff
• Workflow process improvements that allow for more timely and accurate analysis
• Work closely with both Internal and External Auditors
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of monthly financial statements
• Prepare quarterly Schedule F filings
• Prepare bordereaux for Reel Media program and reconcile all cash settlements
• Provide ad-hoc analysis to external Reel Media brokers and address discrepancies
• Assist in the forecast and planning process

Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of reinsurance experience preferred
• Ability to work with large volumes of data to derive business solutions.
• High proficiency in the use of MS Excel, MS Access, SAP, Essbase
• Experience working with automated accounting and reporting systems.
• Ability to identify and solve problems based on analysis (start to finish concept).
• Proven superior communication, presentation and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong business and interpersonal communication skills (written and oral).
• Outstanding inter-personal and team leadership skills with emphasis on employee motivation.
• Excellent analytical, problems solving and technical accounting skills
