As a Fire Safety Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting buildings and facilities to ensure compliance with fire safety codes, regulations, and standards. Your role will be crucial in safeguarding public safety and preventing fire hazards through effective inspections and enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings to assess compliance with fire safety codes, regulations, and standards.
- Review and evaluate fire safety plans, fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and other fire protection measures to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
- Identify and document fire hazards, code violations, and safety deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions to address issues.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, violations, and enforcement actions.
- Provide guidance and support to property owners, managers, and business operators regarding fire safety practices and regulatory compliance.
- Respond to fire safety-related inquiries and complaints, and investigate incidents or violations as needed.
- Collaborate with fire departments, emergency responders, and other municipal agencies to address fire safety concerns and support public safety initiatives.
- Stay updated on changes in fire safety codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure effective inspections and recommendations.
Requirements
- Relevant certification or diploma in Fire Safety, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a fire safety inspector or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of fire safety codes and regulations.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills for assessing fire safety systems and identifying hazards.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with property owners, fire officials, and municipal authorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing inspection reports and records.
