THE ROLE
We seek a dynamic and innovative Learning & Development Specialist to join our People & Culture team on a transformative 12-month contract! Reporting to the Senior Manager of People & Culture, you will be the architect of our career framework and onboarding programs in this brand-new role, shaping the future of talent development within our organization. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with P&C Business Partners to build, implement, and monitor onboarding plans for new hires, addressing all core onboarding needs. Coordinating invites and maintaining the Onboarding checklist.
· Coordinate with department heads and managers to tailor onboarding plans that address role-specific requirements, providing new employees with the necessary resources and support to succeed in their initial period
· Design and implement a structured career framework that aligns with organizational goals, outlining clear progression paths and competencies for various roles within the company
· Conduct training needs analysis and relevant assessments to identify training requirements across departments and recommend tailored learning solutions to enhance employee skills and competencies
· Create training programs that support employee development
· Work closely with senior management, department heads, and other internal stakeholders to gather feedback and insights that inform the development of training materials and career progression pathways.
· Work with product managers to ensure standardization of training materials across the company and create a central repository.
· Lead and manage training projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, approved budgets, and quality standards are met.
· Leverage Dayforce LMS to build a central training repository and record-keeping.
· Develop metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and career framework initiatives, providing regular reports to stakeholders on progress and outcomes
· Use innovative design of engaging digital and in-person learning programs that utilize cutting-edge educational techniques and multimedia
· Stay current with industry trends and best practices in training and development, making recommendations for program enhancements
Requirements
Required:
· College diploma or university degree in a related field
· Between 6-9 years of relevant experience in the training, learning, and career development space
· Project management experience; excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
· Proficient in learning management systems and training technologies
· Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders
· Must be confident and optimistic
· Must be driven and determined to achieve goals
· Must have strategic agility, be open-minded, and demonstrate creativity
· Must be able to work independently but also be a collaborative team player
· Self-starter who proactively takes the initiative on tasks and will be driving the change management efforts
· Strong proficiency in computer and software skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously; attention to detail is a must
Desirable:
· Experience working in a distribution, manufacturing, supply chain, or operations industry
