Reporting To: Manager, Logistics Operations

Location: Mississauga, ON

Start Date: Sept 2024

The Ideal Candidate

  • Commitment to executional excellence and outstanding customer service.
  • 2-5+ Years Logistics experience, preferably in a 3PL/4PL Logistics environment
  • Expertise utilizing a variety of modes and equipment types (such as: Dry, Temperature Control, Specialized equipment, Dangerous Goods TL, LTL and IM).
  • Excellent communication skills – customers, carriers, drivers, and Cedric Millar team
  • Strong relationships established over years of working in the industry.
  • Ability to source carriers and or solutions to meet customer requirements that meet the balance of rates and service .
  • Experience using Excel, MS Office applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint).
  • Thrives in a busy environment with strong prioritization, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Confidence in problem solving and finding amicable resolutions.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with customers and carriers
  • Strong geographical expertise - understanding of US and Canada, mileage as it relates to the passage of time, including MTO/DOT regulations, spend governance, inclusive of transit time difference based on mode.
  • Understand the key performance requirements and targets and consistently meet and exceed the delivery expectations are met, and service failures are proactively prevented.
  • Skilfully use negotiation tactics in support of transportation strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily operations activities such as planning and consolidation, dispatching to route sequence, proactively monitoring deliveries, track and trace, and adherence to delivery protocols based on customer requirements
  • Integral team member who will interact primarily with Customer and Carrier for all operational needs
  • Fosters strong relationships with the ability to address conflict, negotiate and reach resolution
  • Planning and collaboration with core carriers, pool points and warehouse providers.
  • Continued sourcing of carriers and warehouse space to ensure Cedric Millar customer's have access to capacity when needed.
  • Sourcing of additional truck capacity for peaks or recovery situations
  • Ensure compliance to procedures and processes are adhered to by all service providers.
  • Document deviations and corrective actions to mitigate trending and recurring issues.
  • Escalated contact for internal and external customers for issues and problem resolution.
  • Consistent and professional communication when resolving issues with a sense of urgency.
  • Resolve supplier invoicing discrepancies.
  • Flexible hours are required to support business needs (outside of normal business hours).
  • Participate in internal and external meetings.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Cross training for other accounts to support coverage and continuity
  • Embrace and understand the technology in place to support the operations.
  • Strong understanding of Cedric Millar service offerings to expand scope of business with current customers.
