The Role

We're looking for a remote System Administrator to add to our dynamic and motivated team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive domain owner and proficient troubleshooter that has experience managing devices (MacOS preferred) in a remote company, managing internal software configuration and access, and providing technical support to staff. They will have knowledge and interest in security and best practices and be able to drive strategy towards better solutions.

We are looking for a System Administrator to:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to staff for company devices and accounts
  • Maintain hardware requirements for staff devices
  • Configure staff MacBooks during onboarding, offboarding and replacements, and may include physically handling and shipping
  • Manage operating system configuration through Kandji
  • Manage Google Workspace, particularly with a focus on security best practices
  • Manage identity management (Okta) and password management (1Password)
  • Manage internal software access and permissions
  • Configure and monitor data loss prevention (DLP) solutions
  • Manage VPN
  • Monitor and oversee security across company devices and accounts
  • Take ownership of compliance requirements and auditing of devices and accounts
  • Own the domain and drive strategy and framework for it

You enjoy and have previous experience:

  • Providing internal technical support and troubleshooting
  • Managing devices in a remote company
  • Managing MacOS devices
  • Managing staff permissions and access to company software
  • Security and best practices
  • Owning tasks and producing solutions autonomously

Bonus Points:

  • Professional certifications or Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science
  • Experience managing Google Workspace for an organization
  • Experience with BYOD mobile device management (iOS and Android)
  • Experience managing hardware security keys (e.g. YubiKey)
  • Experience shell scripting
