Your opportunity
The Bookkeeping Supervisor will oversee a range provide a range of outsourced bookkeeping services both in-house and at the client's offices. This role will assist with full cycle bookkeeping, payroll, government filings and general business advice.
Your major responsibilities
- Supervising a team of bookkeepers to support cloud based clients working in a variety of industries
- Advising on opportunities to optimize QBO and Xero setup up using app connections and app functionality
- Partner with clients to assist them with questions related to the client accounting cycle
- Guide junior bookkeepers on best bookkeeping practices.
- Bookkeeping to trial balance, including accounts payable, bank reconciliations, cheque runs and account analysis
- Preparation of client payroll using internet payroll service providers (Payweb, Ceridian and ADP)
- Preparation of regulatory tax filing (T4, T5, HST, EHT & WSIB)
- Preparation of year end working paper package for accounting
- Drafting correspondence related to client engagements
What we look for
- Must have a minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience working at an accounting firm
- Experience leading a team of bookkeepers, including weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings
- Extensive experience with QBO and Xero
- Extensive experience in QBO ecosystem third party apps – Hubdoc, Plooto, Receipt Bank etc. would be an asset
- Completion of the CPB designation considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
