We are seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer to lead the movement of data to our Azure cloud platform in support of these project streams.

The Senior Azure Data Engineer is a key technical resource responsible for implementing and operationalizing data solutions on Microsoft's Azure platform.We are migrating from on-premise 2019 SQL Server to the Azure Data environment. This role must have hands-on expertise in Data Lakes Azure Synapse Dedicated SQL Pool Azure Synapse Pipelines Security and Cost management. The Senior Azure Data Engineer collaborates with data architects data analysts and other data professionals to deliver scalable efficient and robust data solutions that cater to the organization's analytical and operational needs.

SKILLS NEEDED:

• 10 plus years experience implementing and designing scalable cloud solutions using Azure

• Extensive experience in Microsoft and Google suite of products including Azure Synapse, SQL Azure, Data Management gateway.

• Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects

• Strong analytical and effective communication skills

• Excellent documentation skills both written form and architectural design form

• Excellent understanding of data movement and database design

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Configure and manage Synapse workspaces. Create templates to automate deployments.

• Configure and manage Synapse Dedicated SQL Pools, storage accounts, Data Lakes.

• Design, setup, and configure security groups to allow teams to perform their work based on their roles in the Unit. With the ability to create a special setup for custom projects and activities.

• Create customized RBAC roles to implement above according to the security needs.

• Develop and document the standards for access including process and procedures across the development, quality assurance (QA), and operations teams.Facilitate auditing.

• Estabish the workflows and procedures to migrate artifacts between Development, QA, and Production environments with approval controls. Automate migrations and deployments via Azure DevOps CI/CD efficiently. Reduce the manual steps and effort required for these migrations.

• Cost Management Responsibilities including closely monitoring Azure service expenditures, producing daily cost reports, and executing strategies to optimize resource utilization cost-effectively. Be able to determine which project or person is consuming what resource and at what cost.

• Monitoring activities and jobs as well as overall orchestration workflow.

• Maintain measures for operational efficiency across all Azure objects. Utilize tools keep tabs on system health and to flag and resolve issues or anomalies proactively.

• Process performance metrics are regularly assessed and reviewed to ensure that Azure Services Measures meet the expectations. Necessary tuning and testing are conducted to optimize performance.

• The Azure Data expert closely working with other teams to offer Azure-related guidance and technical support. Comprehensive documentation covering Azure architecture, settings, design rationale, and operational procedures is maintained to facilitate knowledge transfer and smooth ongoing operations.
