Job Title: Clinical Practice Lead – Therapy

Status: Full-time, permanent

FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week)

Vacancies: Multiple

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

ABOUT THE NEWLY INSTITUTE

The Newly Institute is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychologist to take on a leadership role as Clinical Practice Lead. This role blends the accountabilities of a treating therapist, with the responsibility of a Clinical Practice Lead (CPL). WHO YOU ARE

You are a mental health clinician that values working for an innovative and purpose-driven organization. You will provide some or all of the following therapy modalities; trauma therapy, facilitation of psychoeducation groups, exposure therapy, and return to work planning. You, as part of the Clinical Practice Lead Team, will provide clinical leadership, and oversight of these therapy modalities. You, as part of the Clinical Practice Lead Team, will provide training, mentorship, and consultation, and assist management in the development of clinical policies.

Your accountabilities as a Clinical Practice Lead will include:

  • Overseeing the quality of therapeutic services offered by The Newly Institute, ensuring clients receive proper therapeutic processes and outcomes
  • Making clinical decisions, backed by evidence-based rationale, with the inclusion of management when necessary
  • Revising, amending, and adapting group material based on clinic and client needs, and client & employee feedback
  • Providing education and training to members of the multidisciplinary team when needed
  • Facilitating the team consult and debrief as needed
  • Collaborating with Clinical Managers and Human Resources in the clinician recruitment and orientation processes, including the development of training protocols
  • Providing training and mentorship to other existing and new clinics as needed

Your accountabilities as a member of the therapy team will include:

  • Providing individual trauma therapy utilizing EMDR and/or ART
  • Conducting effective assessments of client status
  • Facilitating psychoeducation groups (Based on ACT, Sleep Education, DBT Skills, Mindfulness, and Family Support)
  • Working collaboratively with other therapists by sharing a client caseload, as we provide an innovative model of therapy working closely together
  • Ensuring timely completion of session notes and provide reporting to third parties and community referral sources

WHAT YOU BRING

Education: Master's degree in a profession that provides mental health treatment such as Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, etc.

Professional Registration/Designation: Active registration and membership in good standing with the respective provincial governing body is required. Professional liability insurance is required.

Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of Addictions and Mental Health is required.

Extensive training and experience in trauma-focused therapies, including:

    • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
    • ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy)
    • CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy)
    • Prolonged Exposure Therapy

Experience working with a collaborative team and consulting with other professionals is preferred. Experience in training, coaching and/or mentoring a multidisciplinary team is preferred.

Experience with Complex PTSD is an asset.

Experience in clinical leadership and policy/procedure development is an asset.

Functional Knowledge: Advanced skillset in communication, ability to incorporate evidence-based decision making, skillset in relationship building and team development, and demonstrated administrative organization skills are required.

Technical: Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is required.

Background Check: Offers are conditional, subject to employment reference checks and a clear police background check inclusive of vulnerable sectors.
