HSE Advisor

Salary: 60k to 90k CAD annually
Bridgemans provides everything required to house large industrial workforces on the water, from project concept to completion, through three integrated divisions: Bridgemans Floatels, Marine Services and Marine Construction. We refit Bridgemans Floatels to exact client specifications and operate them to the same standard as a premium hotel. Our Marine Services and Marine Construction divisions grew from our commitment to be a one-stop shop for Floatel customers, offering marine transportation and building docks, berths, breakwaters and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures specifically tailored to marine operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of marine facilities, vessels, equipment, and operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Provide training to marine personnel on safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and environmental protection measures.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses involving marine operations, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide supporting documentation to HSE Manager for meetings with regulatory agencies, classification societies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with maritime regulations and standards.
- Monitor environmental performance indicators and work with HSE Manager to implement measures to minimize the environmental impact of marine operations, including waste management, pollution prevention, and conservation efforts.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation related to HSE performance, incidents, and compliance for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure operational compliance on the implementation, and administration of the Safety and Environmental program on the project.
- Advise the HSE Manager on project execution issues, potential claims, and disputes in a timely fashion.
- Completing daily site reports and managing all site inspection meetings.
- Maintain records of safety-related incidents and actions taken.
- Monitor and measure HSE goals and expectations using Key Performance Indicators.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to marine health, safety, and environmental management.
- Be solutions orientated and provide subject matter expertise to Operations Managers.
- Lead, promote, and maintain a positive safety culture within the company, without compromise.
Qualifications:
- Administration, business or marine educational background is preferred.
- Competence in the areas of safety, people management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.
- Proven experience managing complete projects from initial scope to completion.
- Valid WHMIS and Health and Safety Awareness Training for workers/supervisors certificates are preferred
- Professional certification in marine safety management (Designated Person Ashore) is preferred.
- Previous experience in marine operations, or related industries, with project experience and focused on health, safety, and environmental management is preferred.
- Must be talented in Microsoft software such as, Excel, Word and Outlook
- valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
