Knowledge and Skills Required
- Knowledge of company equipment, maintenance planning, and down unit parameters
- Excellent communication skills to work closely with managers, maintenance group, dispatch, driving staff, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
- Proficient in Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in maintaining a professional work station; sharing and maintaining information within the department and staff
- Awareness of key cost areas such as warranties, collision damage to equipment, and consumption of and inventory levels of parts & supplies
- Awareness of standard timelines for completing specific repairs to vehicles
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Being the first point of contact with the customer and providing excellent customer service in a professional manner
- Assist in data entry duties, including parts billing, technicians' hours, repair details, and other duties as required
- Gather accurate information on the equipment's repairs to create and schedule work orders and job plans; communicate to the technician
- Ensure accuracy of work orders and data records
- Assist in the coordination of maintenance activities through day-to-day interaction with drivers, satellite technicians, and Lead Hand
- Load workshop to maximize capacity utilization, while ensuring all resources are available in advance of scheduled work (labor and parts)
- Schedule equipment services, optimize balances between operating requirements, preventative maintenance scheduling, downtime of revenue equipment, and overall shop productivity
- Actively communicate a high level of awareness relating to maintenance issues
- Maintain unit history ensuring compliance with company and governmental procedures and regulations
- Work to meet budgets and forecasts by maintaining data records and provide activity reports, as required
- Participate in inventory counts
- Understand and analyze departmental changes and developments; assist with process improvement initiatives
