StackTeck, with over five decades of mold building innovation, is a leading source of high productivity tooling solutions for the injection molding industry. StackTeck supplies a wide range of injection molds and IML automation used to produce plastic parts in applications such as caps, closures, medical, PET preforms, and thinwall packaging; as well as complete system integrations including IML. StackTeck has an Automation business located in Vaughan, Ontario. We design and make industrial robotic systems, specializing in In Mold Labelling and Takeoff systems for the plastic packaging market. These systems can also include 6-axis robots, vision and case packing modules. Our goal is to give the successful applicant a wide range of exposure and experience in various areas of our business. This opportunity is open to 4 and 8 month co-op term starting January 2025.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As an Automation Co-Op Student at StackTeck, you will have the opportunity to do the following and much more:
  • Hands on with assembling automation systems (Mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic)
  • Supporting the supply chain/Inventory management group and learning the different types of components that go into designing and building industrial automation equipment.
  • Designing and prototyping 3D parts with our in-house industrial 3D printer.
  • Use of other fabrication equipment such as engravers.
  • Use of CAD programs such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD for detailing, creating assembly drawings, miscellaneous facilities tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Presently enrolled in a post-secondary Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, or related program
  • Some hands-on experience in Assembly & Testing of Robotics (preferred)
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and skill using hand tools (even in mechanical hobbies and/or personal interests)
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and knowledge of wiring and cable routing is beneficial
  • Some experience using Solidworks, an asset
  • Great attitude, willing to learn and make a contribution is key!
