Technical Inside Sales Representative
Full-time, Salaried - Hamilton - In-office role
Under the general direction of the President and GM, the Technical Inside Salesperson will take a leadership role in New Product Introduction, and development. You will be given guidance and resources to deliver while project management and design will be your domain. Initially, the role will also involve customer service and order entry to get to know the company and the customers.
This long-standing and growing manufacturer has been serving the diverse Industrial Marketplace in Canada, and exports to markets around the world. They manufacture several different brush products, serving many different industries. We currently have opportunities for ambitious people wishing to pursue opportunities in Sales Support and Business Development.
Responsibilities Include:
- Work on New Product Opportunities – Custom projects: Understand capabilities, and own them as projects
- Work in collaboration with the Engineering Team, and manage deadlines to ensure projects are completed
- Coordinate product development processes and engineering changes by working collaboratively with professional colleagues both externally and internally. Maintenance of records is essential.
- Create Drawings in AutoDesk along with an accurate Bill of Material (Routers) to manufacture products with specification requirements clearly outlined.
- New Router Creation; outlining and defining material requirements and machine operations.
- Record all new product development for Scientific Research and Development (SR&ED) fiscal reporting.
- Work cohesively with the President, Sales Representatives, GM, Administration, and Production Team.
- Develop and maintain customer and vendor relationships
- Input customer orders into ERP/Global Shop System; maintain and update inventory items and pricing, processing, and management of customer product returns (RMA's) if they occur.
- Handle incoming customer inquiries professionally and expediently.
- Responding to external contact inquiries for sales quotations and product information involving application, specification, pricing, and delivery.
- Perform frequent “cold calls” to generate new business.
- Develop business with existing clients along with creating meeting notes.
Requirements Include:
- A passion for creating new products to meet customer needs, with an interest in experimenting with 3D printing and attempting new manufacturing processes with the engineering team
- Engineering degree/certificate and related working experience is a key asset.
- Direct sales/service experience is required in the Industrial and Manufacturing sectors, preferably in a relevant Production industry i.e. Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Industrial.
- General knowledge of “Lean Manufacturing” will be necessary.
- Knowledge and experience in order fulfillment and inventory management tasks including order entry, purchasing, providing sales quotes, stock replenishments and sales/inventory report analysis.
- Enrollment & Completion of Sales, Marketing or Production Training Programs would be a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Previous experience with ERP systems is an asset along with familiarity using purchase order and inventory management computer software applications.
