Position Scope
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities at the Innovation Centre (CEIC) and the Pilot Plant (CEPP). The Maintenance Coordinator ensures that all scheduled activities are aligned with plant operations so that equipment is maintained and operating properly on a daily basis. Working in collaboration with maintenance, operations and process engineering teams, they will coordinate activities for daily maintenance activities, plant shutdowns, and area turnarounds.

This position is required to be onsite at our Innovation Centre in Squamish, BC.
This position is a full-time position.


Safety

  • Demonstrate a positive safety culture.
  • Identify, report and resolve unsafe conditions, processes or actions within the workplace.
  • Ensure that all safety related incidents, accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in line with company policy.
  • Understand Process Safety Management principles including Process Hazard Analysis such as HAZOP, HAZID or What-If scenarios.


Responsibilities

  • Schedules daily and weekly maintenance routines, Preventative Maintenance (PM), Scheduled Maintenance (SM), unplanned work requests (in coordination with the Maintenance Planner) and Management of Change (MOC) work orders.
  • Deploys work order packages as described in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assigns work related to plant turnaround routines.
  • Deconflicts production activities with maintenance tasks.
  • Works with Production Planner/ Shift Supervisor to understand equipment availability for maintenance routines and notifies/coordinates with operations for LOTO's of equipment when required, prior to work being scheduled.
  • Determines safety hazards related to assigned tasks and takes action to eliminate risk and coordinates job safety planning for assigned resources.
  • Reviews new work requests to make sure that they are associated to the correct asset tag and there is no duplication of request already in the cue.
  • Reviews work order for accuracy of the details in the request(assets, work step, plant state, etc)
  • Reviews craft notes to understand work order state, reschedules work orders if they are not complete within the shift and helps supervisors plan around roadblocks.
  • Works with supervisors and managers to request craft overtime coverage when required to complete emergency work in the plant.
  • Communicates multi-craft complexities within work orders with Maintenance supervisors
  • Works to deconflict work requests and eliminate trade stacking.
  • Works to align availability of resources when multi craft work orders are issued.
  • Represent maintenance at coordination meetings, communicates work plans and progress updates.
  • Reviews listed work steps in work requests to understand the scope of work and required safety considerations.
  • Works to assign and drive SM/PM routines plant wide.
  • Captures and catalogues SM/PM's which require updates to keep up with plant modifications.
  • Maintains knowledge regarding engineering standards and ensure compliance.
  • Complies to the procedures for management of change (MOC).
  • Ensures parts and procedures are available for new installations.
  • Identifies and tracks recurring or high impact maintenance problems.
  • Ensures that the correct tools and materials are available, and procedures are adhered to.
  • Covers planning duties when Maintenance Planner is absent.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in related field of study.
  • Red seal trade certification considered an asset.
  • Certification with SAP training programs considered an asset.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience working with process related systems within a plant environment.
  • Understands the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Experience with computer software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Power-point, Outlook.
  • Working knowledge and experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Experience with SAP considered an asset.
  • Understands shift loading and plans work to fit with resourcing availability.

Offers and Benefits
Carbon Engineering offers a competitive compensation package including extended health benefits. Base Salary for an Intermediate level role is $74,800 to $107,100 with additional bonus pay.
