Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Production Supervisor at our 352 Arvin Ave. Stoney Creek facility.
Job Summary & Reporting Structure:
Reporting to the Production or Plant Manager, the Assembly Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and personnel of the production line to ensure that all customer schedules are met within the established quality, safety and production targets. Responsibilities:
- To be familiar with and practice and/or promote all aspects of the production line and its operation, ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System, Health & Safety policies and legal obligations.
- Oversee the daily operations of the production line, ensuring customers' production schedules are met within the required quality specifications at the established production targets.
- Manage production personnel, resolving concerns, reviewing performance, and maintaining morale, discipline and employee training in accordance with the Company and ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 procedures.
- Comply with all health, safety and environmental regulations, ensuring a safe work environment at all times through the enforcement and promotion of the Company's health and safety practices, ensuring workplace inspections are conducted and that potential hazards are acted upon immediately and accident levels minimized.
- In conjunction with lead hands and Shift Lead, participate in the analysis and problem solving production problems or quality problems.
- Promote and implement continuous improvement and a quality attitude in all production areas.
- Advise the Shift Lead of all production, personnel or equipment problems
- Daily start-up and shut off equipment and machinery; review and organize production schedule; organize personnel, ensuring all positions are filled; tend to equipment breakdowns; and monitor production supplies; advise Shift Lead of all production, employee or equipment problems.
- Manage time and attendance daily.
- Monthly, review monthly statements and reject reports with Shift Lead, explain variances to budget and extraordinary items; establish corrective actions if necessary.
- Ensure all personnel adhere to all procedures and policies, all processes are monitored, and all product is labeled, stored and handled as outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality system and the Company Safety policies.
- Participate in quality audits, FMEA's, PPAP's or other reviews as requested.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or GED is required
- Five (5) years experience in a high volume manufacturing environment preferably automotive
- Post-Secondary education in Materials Management/Operations Management/Mechanical Engineering or minimum of two (2) years experience in a leadership role is an asset
- Must be able to work rotating shifts (Day shift 6am-3:00pm and Afternoon Shift 3:15pm-12:15am)
- Demonstrated working knowledge of manufacturing principles (5S, lean)
- Intermediate knowledge of mathematical calculations for purposes of determining daily operation efficiencies
- Supervisory Health and Safety Training is an asset
- Effective communication skills for providing clear direction to production team
- Mechanical aptitude with an ability to articulate mechanical concerns
- Ability to utilize computers for reporting and data entry (ERP/MRP system, Microsoft Office)
- Practical knowledge of manual measuring equipment (gauges, hand tools)
