As the General Manager, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the safe production of high-quality energy that meets customer expectations efficiently while fostering an environment of growth and development for all employees. This critical leadership role is accountable for the overall performance of the operation, which includes safety, production, quality, process control, maintenance, human resources, cost, reliability, and budgeting. As the site leader, you demonstrate commitment to safety and curate a culture of belonging and operational excellence while developing the team.

You'll Do:

  • Cultivate an environment of trust and credibility while building capability and depth in the team.

  • Develop a world-class safety culture.

  • Develop realistic, long-term operational improvement plans.

  • Maintain a disciplined cost-focused operating culture, actively improving cost management.

  • Strategize and implement process enhancements to minimize costs and enhance productivity.

  • Maintain focus on strategic sourcing of key inputs: fiber, resin, and energy while managing short and long-term goals.

  • Maintain optimal staffing levels and address HR issues while nurturing positive employee relations.

  • Ensure environmental compliance.

  • Coach the management team to ensure continual support, development, teamwork, and talent cultivation.

  • Develop and oversee the plant's operating plan and budgets aligned with divisional and company strategies.

You will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Wood Science, Forestry or Business Administration.

  • Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience in a capital-intensive, safety-focused heavy manufacturing environment.

  • Ideally, experience in wood products manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated expertise in safety culture excellence and process improvement.

  • Ability to inspire trust and motivate teams.
