Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
The Senior Manager, Traceability, in support of our overarching Sustainable Impact Strategy, will play a key role as the lead in advancing and strengthening our traceability initiatives. They are responsible for developing and deploying traceability programs across the business that support CG's sustainability strategy. The Senior Manager will partner with key internal functions to implement processes to improve visibility into our raw materials, supply chain certification requirements and expanding our social performance program. You have a deep understanding of consumer goods supply chains and Sustainability. Approaching your work with a positive attitude, you have strong project management and communications skills that are best suited for working in a fast-paced, energetic, and collaborative environment.
What You'll Do:
- Lead CG's supplier and product traceability strategy across entire value chain
- Drive stakeholder engagement in partnership with sourcing
- Develop pro-active internal processes to embed Traceability in key material sourcing decision-making
- Manage existing sustainability certifications of suppliers, including social compliance; Engage directly with suppliers on managing the cycle of social audits and corrective action plans
- Support wholesalers in their sustainability initiatives through data pulls and questionnaires
- Manage Traceability software platform (ie. Trustrace) and continued software strategy development/growth
- Oversee all applicable audits for the business (Higg, RDS etc..)
- Drive the advancement of current public traceability goals
- Be the internal and external subject matter expert (SME) on industry sustainable traceability certifications
- Act as the SME on global trends in supply chain regulations and anticipate risks material to traceability and the business
- Represent CG in external stakeholder working groups on traceability
Let's Talk About You:
- 7+ years of relevant corporate experience in Sustainability or ESG, preferably in retail, or consulting
- Post-secondary degree in Sustainability, accounting, or equivalent experience in a related field
- Previous experience/understanding of supply chain traceability is an asset
- Clear understanding of global social and environmental issues, as well as their impacts specifically within the luxury apparel space
- Technical knowledge of global sustainability standards, frameworks and best practices
- Proven ability to filter through input and data to find the best solutions
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders at the same time and deliver to completion
- Previous experience managing cross-functional global working groups
- Incredible networker with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to work both independently and as a true team player with diverse global teams in a fast paced and complex environment
- Detailed understanding of global apparel compliance legislation within scope of responsibility
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make independent decisions
- Excellent attention to detail with strong ability to establish and meet deadlines
- Knowledge and experience with applicable global sustainability standards (Higg Index, GRI, SASB, CDP, TCFD etc.)
- Understanding of ESG reporting, both in terms of legislation and investor expectations
- Advanced skills in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Passionate about creating efficiencies and enhancing business outcomes
