Our Civil/Structural group provides a full range of services relating to the integrity of the built environment; failure analysis of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structures; structural assessment of residential/commercial buildings and infrastructures; as well as professional consultation services during construction, structural remediation, and rehabilitation.

Purpose:
The Senior Associate will report directly to the Practice Lead and Regional Director, collaborating with other subject matter experts to consult with clients; perform examinations, testing, and analysis; and prepare technical reports in a clear, concise, efficient, and professional manner.
- Perform site examinations, document review, and effectively communicate investigation and analysis findings to colleagues and clients.
- Report into the Civil-Structural Team and work with the Practice Lead on day-to-day basis in terms of job function, performance management, professional development and work towards the firm and team strategic goals
- Prepare structural calculations, structural simulations, and technical drawings from field measurements, sketches, and other data.
- Prepare technical reports and drawings based upon sound investigations and analysis.
- Independently manage client service deadlines, budgeting, invoicing, and accounts receivable on their projects according to organizational best practices
- Directly liaise with clients on a regular basis and provide updates throughout the investigation
- Demonstrate a commitment to the firm's mission, vision and values.
- Participate with other 30FE staff in business development, marketing as well as the advancement of market and firm growth opportunities; attend industry seminars and events
- Manage projects in an efficient manner and adhere to any billing and reporting requirements and/or client-based master service agreements (MSAs)
- Work in a collaborative environment, both on your team and across disciplines.
- Work towards providing expert testimony in court.
Expectations:
- Spend approximately 70% of your time working on client files
- Spend approximately 10% of your time on industry and marketing activities
- Spend approximately 20% of your time on professional development
Requirements:
- 10+ Years experience
- Registered as a Professional engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO and OIQ
- Excellent technical writing skills are a must
- Good presentation skills are an asset
- Valid Canadian driver's license
- Willing and able to travel throughout Canada
