Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

  • A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
  • Stations:
    • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
    • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
    • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description

The Stations Design Package Manager, reporting directly to the Station Design Manager, will be responsible for ensuring technical quality during the design development of the stations on the Ontario Line South project, up to the issuance of “for construction” documentation. They will have strong technical relationships with design consultants and will engage directly with the client and their technical advisors during the design process.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads technical proposals, writes technical and contractual documentation, conceptualizes and develops technical packets in relation to the stations design.
  • Supports the Design Manager in the development and implementation of the Design Management Plan for the project.
  • Leads the stations design development and manages high performance design teams and designers in charge of the Detailed Design.
  • Responsible for ensuring the stations design complies with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Promotes, explores and materialises value engineering opportunities throughout the design process of the stations of the project and contributes to identify and develop new technical opportunities and optimizations.
  • Manages processes related to the project's design to ensure that everything is delivered to schedule, working very closely with estimators, quantity surveyors, site managers and other key members of the project team
  • Responsible for the design submissions to the Client and for resolving the comments received from them in relation to stations design.
  • Responsible to provide the necessary technical support to the construction team to develop the construction means and methods for the stations of the project.
  • Drives and inspires technical excellence by creating an environment of learning and innovation that attracts and develops the best talent reflective of the diversity of our clients.
  • Provides strong leadership by example, leveraging strong organizational, managerial, technical, process, and people management skills that can motivate
Qualifications
  • Civil Engineer
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in province of work preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience including similar positions in major urban infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of design principles for underground structures, and geotechnical engineering.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products and Design software
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
