GenMec ACL is accepting applications for Skilled Carpenters with experience, or with their apprenticeship or Journeyperson in Carpentry.

This role is for local project based roles and requires knowledge of commercial construction and remodelling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety.

Job Duties:

• Lay building foundations
• Prepare for framing for cement
• Mix and pour cement
• Create cement form
• Pour cement for stairs
• Frame the building including doors and windows
• Put up siding
• Put up drywall
• Finish the building and ceiling
• Put in flooring
• Finish the roofing
• Put in porches and grounds
• Put up scaffolding
• Build other items as required
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment
• Assist with the delivery of other related municipal services
• Respect and respond to direction given by lead-hand(s)
• Contribute and participate in the effective use of the Quality Control System
• Ensure an adequate supply of material is available for preventative maintenance program
• Perform other related duties, including minor duties of other trades where certification is not required and the work does not exceed own limitations

Requirements:

• Construction experience, with knowledge of concrete is an asset
