Who Are We Looking For?
We are searching for a dedicated Child Care Centre Relief to join our team! This unique role offers flexibility and variety, as the successful candidate will be used to cover staffing needs at any of our Umbrella Family locations. You'll enjoy the opportunity to work across multiple locations, supporting teams and families throughout the region.
This position offers between 28.5 to 37.5 hours per week.
Hourly rate starts at $25.18 to $27.72 per hour.

Qualifications We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

• Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience working with children or related childcare experience with school-aged children.
• Education:
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education is preferred but not required
  • A Diploma in Child & Youth Worker, OCT, Education Assistant, Social Worker, or Recreation & Leisure may also be considered.
• Certifications:
  • Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) is preferred but not required
  • Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Up-to-date immunization for TB, Tetanus, and MMR
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
• Skills: Knowledge of "How Does Learning Happen?" is a valuable asset.
• Characteristics:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with minimal supervision.

What Will You Be Doing?
As a Child Care Centre Relief, you will be responsible for the daily operations of a high-quality childcare centre for children aged 12 months to 12 years. Your key responsibilities include:

• Setting and achieving goals, planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate activities that promote children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development in accordance with the Ministry of Education's How Does Learning Happen framework.
• Supervising children in your care at all times and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
• Organizing indoor and outdoor play areas, creating a welcoming space for all children.
• Conducting daily health checks, maintaining documentation, and addressing any concerns with the Centre Supervisor.
• Collaborating with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty and maintaining positive, professional relationships.
