Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team in a production finance role. The successful candidate will play a key role in analyzing manufacturing costs, tracking inventory, and preparing financial reports. Additionally, this role supports both Operations management and Corporate Finance through cost analysis, intercompany billing reconciliation, and participation in audits. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, along with the ability to recommend process improvements and assist in various ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities

  • Daily production data entry, sales order creation and invoicing in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the Production department to obtain all required paperwork daily and documentation.
  • Reconcile daily production including raw materials, labour, overhead and finished goods.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.
  • Tracking of incoming raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials and related cost data. Collect and compile purchasing data for analysis.
  • Maintain current product costs, and review product costing standards.
  • Reconciliation of raw material inventory and adjustments where necessary.
  • Support Operations management and Corporate office finance.
  • Coordinate with accounts payable between the plant and corporate office.
  • Weekly/monthly reconciliation of intercompany billing and product transfers.
  • Assist with period end close, including journal entries, monthly reconciliations for various GL accounts (including but not limited to inventory, prepaid expenses).
  • Proactively make recommendations to manager for process improvements and internal controls.
  • Assist in company audits and active participation in ad hoc projects, analysis and reporting.
  • Purchase order creation where necessary. Coordination with operations and warehouse team regarding inventory count.
  • Purchase invoice processing and coordination with plant management and AP team
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills

  • 3+ years of financial experience within a manufacturing setting, with a proven track record in cost analysis and financial reporting.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple tasks in accordance with deadlines.
  • Strong personal initiative, highly motivated and the ability to work well with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of ASPE/GAAP.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and working collaboratively with various departments (Production, Warehouse, QA, Admin team).
  • Highly motivated and able to work collaboratively in a team environment with a focus towards the achievement of company objectives (i.e., supporting QA team with production information during third party audits).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication and computer software skills.
  • Post secondary education in finance or accounting, working towards a CPA designation.
  • Experience on Nav13 or Microsoft/Dynamics manufacturing is preferred.
