New City Contracting is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction carpentry, including framing, finishing, and custom woodwork. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work complies with company policies, safety standards, and project timelines. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining the high standards our clients have come to expect.

Responsibilities:

• Perform carpentry work including framing, finishing, and custom woodwork according to project specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, cabinetry, and drywall.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, metal, and other building materials.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with company safety policies.
• Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance as needed, ensuring all work is up to code.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, including material usage and time spent on tasks.
• Communicate progress and any issues to site supervisors and project managers regularly.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Carpenter in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with construction safety regulations and practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  
• Relevant certifications in first aid, carpentry or construction (an asset).
• Physical ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
