Chetwynd Forest Industries, located in Chetwynd, BC, is recruiting for a Planning Forester.

Reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Planning Forester will work with a team of professionals responsible for all phases of timber development. Our Planning Foresters enjoy a unique mix of field and office work, providing exposure to all aspects of our diversified and integrated business.

You'll Do:

  • Harvest planning and road design
  • Cutting Permit development and appraisals from referral to submission
  • Government and First Nations liaison
  • Contract administration, supervision and quality control
  • Incorporating wildlife and other environmental values into operational plans
  • Consulting stakeholders

You have:

  • A Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) designation in British Columbia (or be immediately eligible and willing to earn this designation).
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Be highly motivated, a self-starter, with proven organizational skills.
  • Experience in harvest design and layout
  • A strong working knowledge of BC Forest Policy and Appraisals or the aptitude to learn.

Compensation Package:

  • The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and annual bonus opportunity.
