Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of commercial construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of construction project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel.
- Ensure all projects are completed in accordance with design specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, change orders, and other project documentation.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Oversee project closeout processes, ensuring all documentation is completed and final inspections are conducted.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on commercial construction.
- Proven track record of successfully managing low-rise and high-rise rental apartments, strata condos, senior housing, industrial warehouses, office complexes, and shopping centers.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to travel to project sites across Greater Vancouver, Interior BC, Edmonton, Toronto, and Oregon as needed.
- PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office environment and on construction sites.
- Ability to lift and carry documents and office supplies (up to 20 lbs).
