A Day in the Life of a Construction Manager

As a Construction Manager, you'll supervise the total onsite construction efforts to ensure each project aligns with the plans, codes, quality, budget, and schedule requirements. At the start of a project, you'll review the preliminary budget, identify any missing or inaccurate scope items, set up the budget, and ensure all project costs are accurately accounted for.

Your excellent communication and organizational skills will enable you to manage or supervise multiple projects simultaneously. As the primary contact for client representatives, field personnel, material suppliers, inspectors, and subcontractors, you are the driving force behind achieving desired project results. You are dedicated to keeping building projects organized, under budget, and on schedule. You take pride in your work and look forward to each day.

Qualifications

  • Full Class 5 drivers' license (No restrictions) and a clean driving abstract
  • 3-5 years of experience working in the construction industry or experience in the restoration industry on (water/fire) projects as a site supervisor, construction manager, project manager, lead carpenter, foreman, etc.
  • IICRC certifications is a PLUS - WRT, for example
  • Must have supervisory/people leadership/crew lead experience in the building construction trade
  • Ability to complete work activities, including physical labor, material handling and lifting, climbing ladders, wearing a respirator, and working in tight spaces (attics, basements, and crawlspaces)
