Agriculture Agronomist - Ultimate Yield Advisor

Rack Petroleum Ltd. is currently seeking an analytical self-starter to join The Rack as an Ultimate Yield Advisor.

Incumbent will be expected to work within the bounds of the Rack's 6 factor Ultimate Yield program and processes. Specialize in producing and improving crops by implementing new management techniques. The job requires critical thinking and implementation of research information that develops the best method to increase the production and quality of crops while meeting the goals of our growers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND Position Responsibilities:

  • Hold Ultimate Yield Management Institute (UYMI) meetings with customers to increase sales of UYMI and to retain current customer base
  • Work with all facets of the farming operation, providing valuable information to support growers' in making management decisions
  • Conduct Field Production Appraisal creating recommendation for the customer
  • Managing of Customer soil tests & tissue tests
  • Field scouting - regularly checking for quality of crop growth, weeds and insects
  • Recommending usage of appropriate chemicals and fertilizers for customers including precision farming customers
  • Organize and host customer events including but not limited to field tours and agronomic information meetings
  • Work in coordination with Ultimate Yield Research Team
  • Other duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • The successful incumbent will have completed Bachelor's Degree or Master's of Science (Agriculture)
  • A member of SIA in good standing
  • Preference will be given to candidates having specialization in soils or plant science
