Job Description

Working as a member of the Event Services team, providing set up and service of guests' functions while ensuring excellent service levels and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, service, and tear down of a variety of functions for 5 to 500 guests.
  • Perform a variety of duties including set ups, coffee service, bartending and meal services.
  • Read Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for all room set up and food & beverage requirements.
  • Lift, carry, and set up tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, and other furniture to BEO requirements.
  • Ensure all coffee breaks/meals/meeting rooms are set up for the required time and to the proper standards.
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of dry goods and other items for guests' consumption.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and housekeeping of Banquet storage rooms, back spaces and functions spaces.
  • Polish cutlery, glassware, and tableware.
  • Collect cash, room charges and credit slips from guests for any individual charges for bar tabs or extra items ordered.
  • work in other F&B outlets when required due to business/staffing levels.
  • Attend regularly scheduled Event Services meetings.
Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Alberta ProServe Certification
• Able to meet the physical demands of the position
• Previous experience in banquet service is an asset
• Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Able to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Available to work a flexible schedule and long hours based on business levels
• Customer-service oriented
