Partner Staffing is currently working with our client in seeking an experienced and dynamic Buyer Supply Chain Management Professional on a contractor basis. Approximately one year term, to start with the assignment on August 1, 2024. The Buyer will develop, analyze, negotiate and administer services or materials purchase orders and contracts. They will take a leading role in the competitive bid process, including RFP development, supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiation and issuing purchase orders.

The responsibilities include:

• Lead the competitive bid process for materials and services including developing competitive bid documents, managing the bid process.
  
• Create, negotiate and manage contracts.
  
• Manage contract changes, amendments and dispute resolutions.
  
• Create and manage purchase orders and ensure that commitments are met, and issues are resolved.
  
• Participate in the development of sourcing strategies.
  
• Participate in process improvement initiatives.
  

The qualifications include:

• University degree or College diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or other related discipline.
  
• Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), or equivalent Certified Supply Chain Leader (CSCL), is preferred; or working towards an SCMP or CSCL designation.
  
• Minimum of 5 years related experience is required, 7 or more years is preferred.
  
• Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
  
• Understanding of legal terms and conditions.
  
• Strong computer skills including experience with SAP and Oracle is an asset.
  
• Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
  
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  
• Results oriented with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks at the same time.
  
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
