Summary:

The Production Planner/Customer Support role drives production and shop activities through ERP processes by creating Production Orders, maintaining minimum inventory levels and communicating to team on order statuses. Providing an exceptional customer experience by making the interaction painless and easy. Provides support by following up on order management tasks ensuring that the customer needs are met. Maintains customer accounts and Inventory Items within the ERP system by keeping them up to date. Prepares service reports by collecting and compiling detailed information into booklets. Must be a multi-tasker with a focus on quality, able to solve problems, generate documentation, telephone edict, able to resolve conflict and analyze information. Other duties and projects as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Creates production orders to drive shop floor actions to meet sales demands.
  • Process orders and purchase inventory to fulfill demand, ensure there is stock on hand to meet customer immediate and future requirements.
  • Source and purchase non-stock items to meet customer requirements as required.
  • Monitor and identify inventory demand while maintaining stocking levels.
  • Work with other members of the team and Plant to ensure open and smooth communication.
  • Generate reports to support activities as needed and provide updates to the team.
  • Track order status and advise team of actionable items.
  • Take calls and act upon e-mails from customers by submitting quotations and entering orders into ERP (Business Central).
  • Communicate to customers on order status.
  • Actively participate in FET's Health, Safety and Environment program.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Production Planning, Purchasing
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP Systems.
    • Creation of Production Orders, Purchase Orders, Routings
    • Inventory demand administration, oversight
  • Working knowledge of customer service techniques in an industrial setting.
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Excel knowledge an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is a necessity.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Effective in completing tasks and seeing actions through to completion.
  • Ability to seek and source out alternatives from alternate vendors.
  • Analytical thinker and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment through support and effective communication.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • ERP or Planning and Inventory Management Certificate or Training.

Experience

  • Industry experience preferred.
  • Previous Sales experience in any industry an asset
  • 2+ years ERP experience related to:
    • Production Orders, Purchase Orders, Routing Creation, Quote and Sales generation.
