Reporting to the President, the Head of Asset Management & Maintenance will be part of a team developing and operating energy solutions for large business and institutional customers including electric vehicle charging, battery storage, solar PV and power generation. This role is responsible for PowerON's overall asset management & maintenance program strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy to ensure the longevity and reliability of PowerON and client assets.

  • Implement an asset management strategy and system compliant with ISO standards

  • Lead the planning, organization, development and overall operation of the department.

  • Responsible for the development and management of large, and/or complex maintenance contracts.

  • Lead corrective and preventative maintenance work across client sites.

  • Own customer success regarding maintenance activities

  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments/subcontractors/supervisors/managers.

  • Visit client sites frequently to ensure effectiveness of operation and maintenance programs.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and service providers.

  • Oversee the management of warranties and spare parts inventories.

  • Develop and implement a program for auditing operation and maintenance subcontractors.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.

  • Implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance maintenance efficiency.

  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures.

  • Oversee inspections of the facilities ensuring issues identified are resolved.

  • Ensure inspection checklists are developed for projects as required.

  • Responsible for managing expenses and controlling the budget for maintenance.

  • Ensure maintenance logs and report on daily activities are being completed.

  • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.

  • Ensure workers have the appropriate training in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.

  • Support project management by liaising with suppliers to compile operation and maintenance manuals for submission to clients.

  • Ensure project management, operations, and maintenance teams work together to ensure a smooth transition to operation and maintenance phase.

  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience leading an operations and/or maintenance team

  • Experience managing a customer-facing maintenance program

  • Experience managing an electrical asset management and maintenance program

  • Experience working with remote monitoring systems

  • Strong business acumen to develop profitable programs, conceptualize new business opportunities and contribute to PowerON's business strategy

  • Knowledge of ISO 55000 Asset Management, and Asset Management Plan for Municipal Infrastructure Regulation

  • Self-initiated and intellectually curious, with a strong interest in electrification

  • Technical knowledge of EV charging, battery storage and other electrical equipment

  • Enjoys interacting and collaborating with clients, vendors, and diverse teams
