Senior Manager, People & Culture Operations

This is a hybrid position based in Toronto, ON. The successful candidate lives in Toronto and will commute to our downtown Toronto office regularly.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the VP, People & Culture, your job responsibilities will include:

  • Partnership: Building and maintaining strong relationships with people leaders, and employees, conducting regular check-in meetings, and providing guidance and coaching on all HR related matters.
  • HR Expertise: Working closely with the VP, People & Culture to provide expertise and solutions related to performance management, employee relations, resignations, terminations, development and coaching, compensation, benefits, and organizational development.
  • Employee Lifecycle Experience: Oversee daily operations of employee end to end lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding (resignation, terminations), payroll, benefits, time/off and leave, and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Annual People Cycle Activities: Working with the People & Culture team to manage annual people cycle activities such the Growth & Performance Review and Compensation Review.
  • Operations Optimization: Being a trusted resource for HR systems, data, policies, and processes to drive HR operational improvements.
  • Office Operations: Working with the People & Culture team, ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations and a positive employee experience.
  • Employee Engagement & Events: Organizing company social events and activities to support employee morale.
  • Change Management: Leading change management initiatives and supporting organizational development efforts to drive a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Hiring: Collaborating with the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition to establish hiring needs and participating in full-cycle recruitment activities.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with government legal requirements throughout all human resource management processes.
  • Project Management: Creating, executing, and delivering various projects to standardize and strengthen HR practices across the organization, as well as recommending new processes and initiatives.
  • Performing other duties as required.
Skills & experience:
  • 5+ years of experience as an HR business partner or HR Specialist / Generalist
  • 2+ years of experience leading people
  • University diploma specializing in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Psychology, Business or related field
  • Experience working in start-up and/or early to mid-stage companies. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic working environment. Consistent with all of our leaders, the readiness to roll up your sleeves
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of labor legislation and commitment to workplace compliance and standards
  • Proficiency in using HR tools such as BambooHR or other HRIS / ATS tools
  • Interest or background in healthcare technology
