Resource Profile

  • One (1) Guidewire Digital Configuration Developer resources dedicated to Digital Enhancement Project. The resources will lead requirement elaboration and review, system design & review, development & review and understanding GW Digital development as well as support any environment set up support needed from integration prospective and provide issue and defect resolution support.

Resource Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and development of front end digital capabilities(Guidewire Jutro based portal application) that communicate with the Guidewire Core web-applications through the Edge Services API offering new functionalities to the digital user community.
  • Develop fast, easy-to-use, high volume Claim Intake functionality with the Portal applications to enhance capabilities exposed to the user base
  • Configuring screen layouts, including creation of new screens and workflows with Jutro framework on top of reactJS for client Digital portal.
  • Develop and perform unit test to ensure each unit in WSIB portal application meets the requirements
  • Work with subject matter experts and business analysts to deliver technical requirements and other project artifacts to the project team as well as perform hands on development activities.
  • Conduct and participate in architectural and technical reviews; daily stand-ups, sprint planning, code reviews, Defect triages and retrospective sessions
  • Conduct user story / Sprint demonstrations at the end of sprint / release
  • Follow Guidewire recommended guidelines and the best practices for product configuration
  • Demonstrate knowledge on P&C Workers Compensation line for Claim Intake business functions
  • Provides technical consulting to business analysts, and technical associates, while working in close coordination with the architecture team
  • Communicate status via defined processes and project management tools.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) methodologies and processes such as object-oriented programming, distributed, and cross-platform program communication.
  • Demonstrate Strong understanding of open systems architecture including integrations with vendor packages, relational databases, message queues, web services and legacy systems is must
  • Understands business and customer requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

  • Overall 10+ years in design, development of systems – preferably within Insurance
  • 5+ years of hands on experience of Guidewire Digital Design and Development on CustomerEngage products with ClaimCenter7 or above.
  • 1+ years of hands on experience with Guidewire Jutro framework.(Guidewire Digital framework Version 11)
  • 5+ years hands experience in developing web application using ReactJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc.
  • Must have Certification of Guidewire Digital Configuration Developer. Certification of Guidewire Digital integration Developer would be a bonus.
  • Experience in GW Edge APIs would be a bonus
  • Well versed with Guidewire recommended guidelines and the best practices
  • Knowledgeable on P&C Workers Compensation line for Claim Intake business functions
  • Experience working with at least 1 major Insurance carrier – either full time or as a consultant
  • 4-years Bachelor's degree, Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to all audiences verbally and in writing
  • Experienced with Agile methodologies, devops tools and CI/CD
  • Experience working with tools such as Jira , Confluence and GitHub/Bit-Bucket
  • Proven track record of creating clear, concise deliverables that reflect a deep understanding of CustomerEngage Suite and the out of the box software functionality
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to prioritize among many conflicting needs, advocate a course of action, and pursue it consistently but flexible and responsive to dynamic situations
  • Ability to provide expert technical advice, guidance and mentoring to project team members and stakeholders
  • Experience operating and interfacing with business management, including negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Understands communication channels and escalates appropriately.
  • Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance
  • Personal time management skills and ability to meet individual and team deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Worker Compensation Lines
  • Skilled with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket or equivalent tool
  • Experience with the full SDLC, including the end-to-end test cycle and agile/iterative development and delivery
