ROLE OVERVIEW

Job Title: Marketing Manager

Job Type: Full-time permanent
Department: Marketing
Location: Calgary, AB

The Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in advancing the company's marketing efforts, supporting project pipelines, product marketing, and enhancing overall brand image. This position involves developing and managing a small but cohesive team and strategizing marketing plans to drive growth. The Marketing Manager will report to the Director of Corporate & External Affairs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, understand customer needs and satisfaction, and uncover opportunities, integrating these insights into marketing approaches
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, market positioning, and customer acquisition within target industries
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, email, social media, events), leveraging data-driven insights and the latest trends
  • Manage and successfully execute timelines and budgets for new marketing initiatives and product launches
  • Collaborate across teams (business development, research and development, engineering) to ensure effective communication and alignment of marketing initiatives with the organization's goals
  • Work with the leadership team to continue refining the company's brand identity, value proposition, and messaging to align with business objectives
  • Work with outside partners and internal teams to create compelling marketing collateral (videos, brochures, presentations, etc.), website content, leadership bylines, case studies, and sales enablement tools
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners — including PR firms, design agencies, and marketing contractors—to enhance the company's reach and brand credibility
  • Establish and monitor marketing KPIs and performance metrics, providing regular reports and actionable insights to the leadership team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product or growth marketing, with a preference for candidates who have worked in early-stage startups expanding into late growth-stage companies
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive brand growth and generate sales qualified leads
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop a high-performance marketing team
  • Experience in developing and executing integrated campaigns across digital and traditional channels, leveraging marketing automation tools and CRM systems (HubSpot or other)
  • Preference for those who have worked in target industries (cement & concrete, carbon management, clean tech, or construction tech) and understand their unique marketing dynamics, customer pain points, and regulatory landscape
  • Ability to convey complex technical topics in clear, compelling ways to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to quickly grasp complex scientific subjects
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform marketing strategies
  • Excellent writing skills
