Summary
The Director of Finance oversees all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring a financially healthy operation. This role involves working closely with the leadership team to develop financial strategies, manage budgets, analyze data, and provide recommendations to maximize profitability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure each team member understands their duties and completes tasks safely, timely, and efficiently. Address any performance gaps.
Use values-based leadership to engage and empower employees to achieve overall goals and production targets.
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with overall objectives.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process to support business planning and decision-making. Monitor budget performance and provide insights and recommendations to management.
Prepare, present, and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard assets.
Ensure the right people are in the right roles within the department.
Evaluate financial policies, systems, procedures, and make recommendations for improvement.
Notify and report to leadership any critical financial and operational performance trends.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify needs and seek business solutions.
Advise executive management on the financial implications of business activities.
Manage cash flow, including receivables, payables, and working capital to optimize liquidity.
Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts to stakeholders.
Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.
Evaluate investment opportunities, including capital projects and acquisitions.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
CPA designation preferred.
Proven experience of 3+ years in a senior financial management role.
In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficient and adaptable with use of technology and the ability to use programs to their full potential.
